Carly Milyo

Carly Milyo’s journey into yoga began when she hung up her cheerleading pom-poms in 2010. A former Virginia Tech cheerleader, Carly discovered yoga during her senior year while studying Human Development and quickly fell in love with the practice. What began as a way to complement her athletic career soon became a passion and, ultimately, a career.

After graduating from Virginia Tech and returning to Atlanta, Carly immersed herself in the yoga community, teaching wherever she could and building a loyal following of students who showed up for her energizing early-morning classes. In 2014, she founded Thunderbolt Power Yoga, where she taught, built community, and led her own 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training programs.

In 2019, Carly made the difficult decision to close her studio and step away from teaching to focus on raising her growing family. That season gave her a new perspective on yoga, community, and what it means to create a space where people truly feel at home.

In 2024, Carly returned to the mat and opened Homestead Yoga, a heated yoga and sculpt studio in Milton, GA. Now in its second year, Homestead has become a place where movement, connection, and community come together — reflecting Carly’s belief that yoga is about so much more than what happens on the mat.

With more than a decade of teaching experience and a background in leading 200-hour teacher trainings, Carly is thrilled to continue sharing her knowledge and passion for yoga as part of the upcoming faculty at YTT Collective. She especially loves helping aspiring teachers develop confidence, find their authentic voice, and understand how to create meaningful experiences for their students.

Carly lives in Milton with her husband, Patrick, their three children, Channing, Nolan, and Leighton, and their Maltese, Stella. She is so excited to be back in the yoga community she loves — and even more excited to help shape the next generation of teachers.
